Job post
Electronic Engineer
Role description
Electronics and Embedded Systems engineer with a solid foundation in electronics, embedded software, and hardware integration. The role is focused on the development and integration of blueOASIS sensing systems across multiple platforms. Work will include embedded firmware development, sensor interfacing (acoustic and non-acoustic), data acquisition, and system integration of sensors such as hydrophones, temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, cameras, and other environmental instrumentation. The engineer will contribute to building reliable, platform-agnostic solutions capable of operating on buoys, USVs, UUVs, and other marine assets. Close collaboration with the acoustics, AI and software teams is expected to ensure coherent hardware-software integration for real-time, power-constrained systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and validate electronic hardware systems;
- Interface and integrate multiple sensors (acoustic and non-acoustic) into unified hardware platforms;
- Support integration of sensing systems into buoys, USVs, UUVs, and other marine platforms;
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for sensing and data acquisition systems;
- Implement communication interfaces for sensor and system integration;
- Support power management design and optimisation for low-power, field-deployed systems;
- Perform system testing, debugging, and validation in laboratory and field environments;
- Collaborate closely with teams to ensure reliable hardware-software integration;
- Contribute to technical documentation, test reports, and system integration guidelines.
