blueOASIS is the tech partner making complex ocean intelligence more accessible, faster, and more powerful than ever.
We bring the expertise and technology needed to elevate your ocean projects.
We are taking deep-tech solutions out of the labs to replace costly, slow and inefficient traditional ocean monitoring. We’ve built a global network of partners to deploy the integrated technology to finally achieve maritime security and environmental sustainability. We are proving that ocean protection is not just possible, but an inevitable outcome of the new wave of ocean technology.

The beginning
blueOASIS was founded in October 2021 by Guilherme Beleza Vaz with the mission of accelerating ocean sustainability through R&D and innovation. It all started with a team of 4 dedicated employees and 2 external partners, bringing the Dutch approach of applying research to solve real ocean problems.
Providing expertise in ocean engineering
Secured a major PRR project, supported several EU project trials, and delivered targeted R&D consultancy projects on CFD. Launched RAINDROP, an open-source underwater acoustic modelling framework. Opened an office in the Netherlands.
The start of Hydrotwin
blueOASIS started Hydrotwin, a groundbreaking, scalable, underwater acoustic smart monitoring technology. Established the first HPC partnerships across Europe.
The first round of investment
blueOASIS was invested by Portugal Ventures and Dexterity. Expanded to Azores, establishing the company headquarters in Horta, Faial. Provided high-tech ocean engineering and underwater acoustics services to clients, including Iberdrola, DAMEN, Jan De Nul, PLOCAN, MARIN, among others. Selected for multiple Horizon Europe projects such as EU-FLOATFARM and EU-PHAROS. Deployed the first Hydrotwin unit in Faial, Azores and performed test deployments at the NATO REPMUS exercise.
Focus on Hydrotwin development
Hydrotwin was launched in January 2025 and has been scaling up and growing its international client base ever since. A team of 26 full-time experts is focused on advancing the capabilities of the Digital Twin of the Ocean (DTO). The first HT-V deployment took place at REPMUS in 2025. blueOASIS secured investment from Insight Ventures at the end of 2025.
From today to the end of 2026
100 Hydrotwins sold, ready to be deployed and operational. blueOASIS counts with 30 full-time experts now. Supporting the implementation of a pioneering centre for research and innovation in underwater acoustics in the Azores (NAAC – North Atlantic Acoustic Center), positioning the region as an international hub for ocean science and technology.

Want to help make ocean protection a reality? We're always looking for talented engineers, researchers, and ocean lovers who move fast and think differently.
Building ocean solutions together
From ocean sustainability to maritime security
We work with offshore companies, port authorities, defence organisations, research institutes and aquaculture operators. Our technology and services can be adapted to suit different environments, project timelines and specific challenges. Whether you need to assess underwater noise, optimise vessel operations, protect critical infrastructures or study marine life behaviour, we can deliver.
Offshore Industry
From floating wind turbine optimisation to subsea infrastructure monitoring, we help you build sustainable offshore operations without compromising on environmental protection or regulatory compliance. We get the data, develop the models, deploy with urgency and make ocean awareness actionable.
Ports & Harbours
Port operations call for precision, safety and environmental responsibility. Using Hydrotwin and our Digital Twin services, we help ports to optimise traffic flow and comply with marine protection regulations while maintaining operational efficiency and protecting coastal ecosystems.
Security & Defence
When conditions are harsh and stakes are high, maritime security requires technology that works. Proven during NATO exercises, our underwater acoustic surveillance system provides autonomous, real-time detection and classification of vessels and submarines, as well as underwater activity. When defence operations demand reliable ocean intelligence, we deliver technology that keeps working when everything else shuts down.
Research Institutes
Research moves at the speed of data. We accelerate ocean science by making advanced monitoring technology accessible, affordable and deployable anywhere. Whether you're studying whale migration, measuring how anthropogenic noise impacts marine ecosystems, or creating digital twins of them, we help you collect the right data, process it faster, and visualise the results.
